How to complete onboarding

To get started and access all the features we offer, you'll need to complete the onboarding process. This guide walks you through each step of onboarding to ensure you set up your account correctly.

Step 1: Select Your Preferred Server

The first step in the onboarding process is selecting your preferred server. This is important because it determines which Discord community you'll primarily interact with.

• After logging in for the first time, you'll be directed to the server selection screen
• Browse through the available servers (BE, NL, DE, UK, US)
• Select the server that's most relevant to your location or the community you want to join
• Click "Select Server" to confirm your choice

Your preferred server selection affects which Discord roles you receive and which regional data you'll have access to. Choose the server that best matches your geographical location for the most relevant experience.

Step 2: Update Your Profile Information

After selecting your preferred server, you'll need to provide some basic profile information:

• Provide a valid email address for notifications and account recovery
• Optionally, enter your first and last name
• Click "Update Profile" to save your information

Make sure your email address is correct, as important notifications about your account and subscription will be sent to this address.

Step 3: Connect with Discord

PoGoMapper integrates deeply with Discord for community features and role management. To complete this step:

• Ensure you've joined your preferred server's Discord community
• Follow the link provided to join the server if you haven't already
• Verify your Discord connection by clicking "Check Discord Status"
• You should see confirmation that you're a member of the server and any roles you currently have

This step is crucial as many of PoGoMapper's features rely on Discord integration. Your Discord roles will be automatically managed based on your subscription status.

Step 4: Complete Onboarding

Once you've completed all the previous steps:

• Review all the information you've provided
• Click "Complete setup" to finalize the process
• You'll be redirected to your profile page with a confirmation message

After completing onboarding, you'll have full access to the PoGoMapper platform based on your subscription level. Your Discord roles will be updated automatically, which may take a few minutes to process.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Discord Connection Problems

If you're having trouble with the Discord connection:

• Make sure you're logged into Discord in your browser
• Check that you've accepted the invitation to join the server

Server Selection Changes

If you need to change your preferred server after onboarding:

• Contact the support or admin team from your current preferred server

Role Assignment Delays

Sometimes Discord role assignments may take a few minutes to appear:

• Wait at least 5 minutes for roles to be assigned
• Check your Discord profile to see if roles have been updated
• If roles don't appear after 10 minutes, contact support
